Client Spotlight: Baltimore FCA

For their first in-person event since before the COVID-19 pandemic, the Baltimore Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) will be hosting a celebration dinner in early November along with the FCA Park Heights Saints Football and Cheerleading Program

The FCA is an after school student-led organization whose mission is to lead coaches and athletes into growing relationships with Christianity. They pride themselves in their core values, which include integrity, serving, teamwork, and excellence, “[demonstrating] steadfast commitment to Jesus Christ and His Word.”

Their upcoming “GIVE” Thanks Celebration Dinner will be an event to celebrate coaches, athletes, and the community, while bringing forth an opportunity for attendees to hear about the journeys of Ravens players Marlon Humphrey, Patrick Mekari, and Odafe Oweh and the role their faith played in their hardships and successes.

The dinner will also feature guest speaker Johnny Shelton, who is the Ravens’ Chaplain and founder and CEO of Attitudes in Motion, Inc.

Baltimore City Metro Area Director Sirena Alford and her Administrative Assistant Antonia Davis and their team have been planning the event since about May, and are very excited to have their first-person event after so long and have the opportunity to be together in real-time.

Davis said that she is also excited to show the impact that the Baltimore FCA has left on the athletes and coaches through their work, and to let the people see what they’ve been doing in the schools and community, and hopes to continue to gain community support.

“I am excited about this event because it gives God glory for his provision over the ministry here for our Baltimore City coaches, student athletes, and those in our communities that [have] continued during COVID,” Alford said. “We give the Lord thanks for bringing us together in person to encourage one another no matter our income status, our denomination, our race, and the list goes on.”

She is excited to see the impact of the people who make a difference in the city of Baltimore.

The event will be held Tuesday, Nov. 2 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Church and Ministries. Those interested in attending can register on the Baltimore FCA’s website.
